Growing up in suburban Massachusetts during the height of the bling era, I wandered big-box retail stores searching for the perfect object, one that would make me feel like I was OK and complete. The absurdity of this longing informs my materials, forms and surfaces, and my ongoing quest to create objects that evoke feelings of “bling yearning” and “bling decay.
